Computer Information Systems degree
I was just wondering about people's experiences with the computer information systems/technology bachelor degree.
I'm graduating this August with a degree in Sociology and want to pursue more education. I've always enjoyed working with computers. The classes seem interesting as with the kind of jobs that are available at graduation. I know I would rather not attend a tech school with limited credit transferbility.
I'm also wondering about the amount of math required for this degree. I can do it...but it is quite a struggle sometimes. I've already ruled out computer science for this reason.
I would appreciate any opinions, recommendations, advice etc about computer information systems field.
Thanks!

I am a Computer Information Systems student, i graduate next May (if all goes well)
......
The most math i had to do was college algebra and then Applied Calc (stupid peoples calc) not bad at all. I got A's in both. CS majors have to do Calc I and Calc II.
Are you looking to going for another 4 years? If so there are alot of electives that i needed to take.Mobile: Thinkpad T61 | WinXP Pro | C2D T8300 CPU | 3GB DDR2 | 320GB Hybrid SSD HDD | AGN & WWAN
Desktop: Dell XPS 8300 | 3.4 Ghz Intel i7 | 8GB DDR3 | 1TB OS, 1.5TB Mirrored DATA

I would prefer to see if I can widdle it down to two...I have all my generals plus some out of the way.
Do you have to take the CIS classes sequentially or can I take maybe 4 or 5 of them at once? Also, what school are you attending?
Thanks so much for your help : )

I don't know where you're at in your job search, but Northrop Grumman has computer information systems jobs. Focuses include homeland security, land forces, and missile defense.
