I want to become a Photographer?
Hi there.
It's been quite some time since the last time I posted something here
I've a question here and it's not exactly about Computing. What course/degree shall I go for if I'm interested in becoming a Photographer? Do you know any Website that tells more about that job and its related information as well?
Thank You!

Well, im not sure about Malaysia but here you can course at college in Photography and carry it on through uni (England).
Im sure theres a similar procedure there. There might be some courses which you will have to attend or something.
Do some internet searching. To get the most accurate results, use Google Malaysia:

From what I know(which is very little about this). Photograhy is all about WHO you know, and getting contacts. Having a very good camera is a plus as well. Getting involved with whatever you want to be photographing is a good idea.
But you could try taking classes. Or doing a considerable amount of research on it: library, internet. I bet you could probaly find a photograghy forum as well

Or try to find a local photography stupio and see what they require for you to be an employee. That could be a good place to start, get in some practice or something...

for a while you will have to keep your main job and do photography on the side. do whatever you can to get jobs, even if it is doing them for free. word of mouth travels fast if you are good. note that photography is a very seasonal job and not a steady income.
I don't like signatures.

Saying you want to be a photographer is like saying you want to be an athlete. There are many diverse sub-catagories of "being a photographer." IMHO it would be wise to decide what interest you in the field of photography and take a few college level classes in general photography to get your feet wet. Your local public library would be a good place to start searching for reading material as well as the internet. You might also want to check out www.IFPO.net (International Freelance Photographers Organization) I personally have been a photographer for over 30 years, It's not an easy or glamorous job (it does have its moments). Best of luck to you but for now keep your day job.
Does this mean you don't want any cookies?

It depends on the type of photographer you want to be. A few are:
- Nature photographer
- Journalism photographer
- Studio photographer
- Photographer for hire (like for wedding and stuff)
I'm sure there's others I haven't thought of too.

Has it occurred to anybody in the Quantitative Easing and Easing crowd that we have a Stock Market recovery but not an Employment recovery because we don't have the reinvestment in our own Economy...
