career in networking
hi, im trying to figure out what im going to do , i am looking into cisco networking but i also want to get my a+ cert, and some programming is aswell so my plan was
junior year which is this year i am going to take cisco academy, and a+ , and then try to get some college course's in some programming this year at solano community college in california. So if i am correct ill have my a+ certification ( if i can get that in highschool) at the end of junior year so i can get a computer repair job while im still working on my programming and cisco networking. Right now im pretty good with computer hardware like trouble shooting, building computers ect. i havent messed with programming yet. and networking i'v daddled in it a little just like with wireless connections, firewalls ect. , the only os i really used is windows xp it the one i no the most in. So what do you guys think so far ? im looking int omy college just right now, but need my dad to help me lol cause its kinda confusing findings the class ect.athlon x2 4200+@2.68

taken from another thread
You can have all the certs in the world, if you dont have any real world experience (in this age) you wont get far.My question is what experience do you have with computers/networking in the real world? Are you currently working in the field? I only ask this because just getting your degree is not going to get you a job these days. Since you are in highschool you need to get into a part time job, volunteer, do whatever you can to get experience under you. Learning what they teach you in school is alot different that what actually happens in the real world.
