I'm going for exam 70-298 Desinging Security for Microsoft Networks. I think it's 70-298 or maybe it's 70-299 . I've taken the course twice and the book is thin, so I am going to study up and hopefully take the test in two weeks. It is mostly case study, a lot of reading, and choosing the best answers. Should be FUN! |

I had to delay my exam because of some stuff going on at work.
Passed
6 simulations, like 4 questions on the permissions, some performance questions, and a few backup questions
One more exam (70-291) for the MCSA then its onto my CCNP
Looking at the documentation for the 70-291 this looks like where the fun starts. I am hoping to take this around July 16th. Pretty much the kids have about 2 weeks left of school then the summer starts. I think i can do it |

Congrats GZ!!! You are moving right through these exams! 70-291 will be fun and you will be better prepared since you have your CCNA. Don't forget to study up on WSUS if you haven't because there a few questions on the exam about it and I don't think any of the study material has been updated to include WSUS. I'm tugging along this Microsoft stuff, but come Winter, I hope to be going through Cisco, so I can pick at your brain for the CCNA . |

I will be leaving that following Saturday for the Cisco Live conference in CA. So i don't want to worry about my MS test anymore once i hit the conference. After i get back (next Friday) i will start my CCNP stuff up again. |

Well this is the last 3 days before i take the 70-291. I was supposed to take it tomorrow but i still was unsure about DNS and whatnot. Either way i feel a lot better and hope to pass it on thursday at noon. I hope i do because i am so tired of MS certifications.
If all goes well im gonna take off for a month and look around on what i need to do to start my CCNP. (gathering materials and equipment) |

Wow that is indeed a hard exam. I failed it miserably mainly cause towards the end i kind of stopped studying. I have spent the last couple of days reviewing and noticing a lot that i have missed.
I'm scheduled to take the exam again this thursday and i feel a lot more confident about DNS now.
I hate how ms ask questions about RRAS thinking people actually use them as a router. It sucks. I put in the comments of one question, "I wouldn't be cheap and buy some decent Cisco gear to accomplish this" |

All done, passed today with an 820. (they asked alot of the same questions) Now i can forget everything i learned and enjoy my month off. Ill start looking over the CCNP stuff and gathering equipment and reading material.
I'm so happy my life with MS is done with for now. I learned a lot and i learned that i couldn't manage windows as a full time job.
Plus there is a lot more money with Cisco than there is MS |
