can you get your MCP with a 072 test or does it have to be a 070, because everything i found on M$'s path is the 070 test paths..

from the ms site
Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) candidates are required to pass one current Microsoft certification exam that provides a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise.*http://www.microsoft.com/learning/mc...uirements.mspx*A current exam is any exam that has not been retired
However if you are wanting to continue up the MS chain I would suggest going for the 70-270 as pretty much thats the real start. Shuckyd you should ask your employer if they pays for certifications!

The test are not a simple walk in the park, they do love to ask some off the wall questions

Multiple Choice?
Is buying a study book neccessary? Or can I find enough study material online?
-
May 11th, 2007, 12:36 PM #11
Yup multiple choice and most of the time there could be several right answers. MS wants the best answer.
You might find some studying material online if you look around. I'm not trying to scare you, i just dont want you going in there thinking you are going to pass certifications with your eyes closed!

And its ideas like that, that has brought down how useful a certification is.

Just realized I may have scheduled mine at the EXACT same time I will have a final for a summer class.....
I just randomly picked a date/time....
Also, the lady on the phone managaed to screw up a few of my personal details. Despite repeating everything over 5times.
"Last name Perry"
P. E. R. R. Y.
Terry or Perry
"Perry with p, like panda."
Perry
later in the conversion....
First name Carl, last name Terry
NO, last name Perry. P as in Paul
later... she repeats everything like 3 times back to me, but her accent is overwhleming.....
I spelled out every peice of information. Shes still mispelled the city and my last name. IMO, anyone who cant speak fluent english should be deported. Atleast dont give them a job where they are required to speak..

Wow the tests are 165 mins long (well for the 070-270). well thats the time limit. in the FAQ it says if you fail it, you can take it again b4 the deadline so i guess you can keep trying till you get one lol. Which one should i take? i dont really know about window servers.. i guess ill take 070-270 like GZ said since im very proficient in Xp (who isn't? :P)
EDIT: Do we get the scores right after we take it?Last edited by gigahertz205; May 14th, 2007 at 05:54 PM.

The 70-271 and 272 aren't that difficult compared to the 70-270. 70-270 is more geared to the person configuring, deploy, or maintain Windows XP in an enterprise networking environment, where 271/272 are more Help Desk/troubleshooting Windows XP at the end-user level. 271 and 272 combined will give you the MCDST certification. Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician.

You will find out what your score is right after you submit the exam.
If they ask you to see the front desk you failed

Also Its a pretty hard test I hear anyway, but then again it all depends on how much you know.

Also, I saw the first episode of Titan when it came out, but plan on waiting until it finishes airing to watch the entire show. It is the highest rated new show this season on MAL so it is apparently...
