A+ Hardware 2003 Objectives [FAILED]
hello, yesterday I failed the A+ 2003 hardware objectives. Min to pass was 515, I got 479 and a list of things that I have gotten wrong, or at least a general idea. I was told I could take it right away after I failed it since it was 2nd time not 3rd+ by the guy at the center. So I tried logging into prometric yesterday and it says I must wait 1 business day. I waited today and their site was down. Came home later and tried. I got past that screen and then got to where you put your voucher # in and it said this voucher number is not valid. what the fuck.
do I have to pay again to REtake my hardware test?
can I still get my A + certification if I only pass 1 or the other?
why the fuck arent there just 2 tests instead of just 1 with 160 questions?
who the hell determined the prices for these tests?
I was told by my teacher that the ABSOLUTE deadline for taking the A+ 2003 objectives is June 30th of this year. Then what? do I repay and take the 2006 objectives? I am so confused and I NEED help ASAP!!! Dear God, I'm panicking somebody please help me !!!Last edited by HelpME1; June 24th, 2007 at 10:46 PM.

I'm not sure where the confusion is there, but yes you have to pass both tests before the date is up or you are SOL and have to take the newest versionsLast edited by RicheemxX; June 24th, 2007 at 10:45 PM.

Yes you have to repay for taking the test each voucher is only good one time, its not a no pass no pay thing. And as I said you have to pass both the hardware and software tests by the end of the month

I took a course at a tech school (computer repair) and we did the 2003 objectives. the teacher then told us that we have to take the exam by the 30th. he said that instead of paying the 300+ in total for both tests, we would get the 'other version' that is a 'special students program' for 72 a test or 144 in total (half of what it was) he DID NOT explain to us anything about this. basically it was a sign this form and give me 144$ type of thing. didnt explain what to do incase we failed OR passed. I have already used both vouchers, 2nd one I can cancel if I want to right now since its scheduled for the 30th. searching the site right now to see if I can find anything about a refund...

June 24th, 2007, 11:43 PM #10http://www.prometric.com/APFAQ/Payment.htmThomson Prometric vouchers are non-returnable, non-refundable and may only be used for the type of test indicated on the voucher. Terms and conditions of use accompany each voucher order along with the expiration date. Vouchers may not be redeemed after the expiration date.
you can try to appeal for a refund of the unused one however the one you used it just that used. http://www.prometric.com/appeals.htm

What I suggest, if you can afford it, is to forget about the 2003 courses and just take the 2006 version.
While searching for a job, I come a cross many posting where they say that A+ is required and some go as far as to say 2003 or newer, and I came a cross one that even said 2006 or newer. While you are certified for life, some businesses will only employ people who have taken the recent editions.
Hope this helps you with your future.

do I have to pay again to REtake my hardware test?
Yes you will have to pay to retake the hardware portion
can I still get my A + certification if I only pass 1 or the other?
No you need to pass both parts
why the fuck aren't there just 2 tests instead of just 1 with 160 questions?
That is the way Comp TIA designed it.
who the hell determined the prices for these tests?
Vouchers are only about $125 bucks, what is the big deal? You should see how much the Security/CCIE exam cost.
And no you cant get a refund, either you pass the exam before the end date or you will have to go for the newer test. Simple as that.

I thought it was nice that they broke tests up like they did.
The MCSE was 6 tests. Boy taking all of those at once would have been frustrating.
