SF Bay Area, I dont have enough patience to learn most things on my own unless i already have a familiarity with it, and been working on computers since i was 8 and learned everything i know from friends, colleagues, and trial and error. Actual "work," worked at Geek Squad for six months before i got sick of the corruption and got a real job doing Help Desk now.
I tried doing CS in college, changed that major before the end of the quarter and dropped all my progamming classes. I went into English, go figure it would actually help me land an IT job.
Typically, i need something visual to stay focused which is why i am in favor of going with the suggestion of CBT's. I tried reading books on programming but i end up losing focus and skipping parts and never finishing them. I have seen the Ultimate A+ on Amazon is well over 1k pages and i doubt i can stay focused through all the junk i already know or think i already know.
