What differs a 1-year Diploma than those 2-3 years? Like Associate Diploma and Diploma. Also, anyone heard of RHODEC? Are they diplomas & degree accredited?
Thanks!

What field?
In my field, anything less than a four-year degree and you'll have a hard time getting an interview. |

Honestly, would you go for the 4-year Accounting degree if you're eligible for the ACCA, CIMA, AIA, etc.? |

there are no 1year diploma's that i know of only certification for anything less than a two year.
Vocational Certificates such as "Certificate of Completion/Proficiency/Achievement"
These basicly say you have taken a focused set of courses that do not include "General Education" courses for a full degree. Consider these a "Fast Track" set of courses that are purposed at getting your to your goal faster without taking "Unneeded" courses along the way.
2 year = Associate in Arts (AA) or Associate in Science (AS)
4 year = Bachelors in Arts (BA) or Bachelors in Science (BA)
Both of these will require the same or more classes then the Vocational Certificates and require additional general education classes for a "Well rounded Education." Often times, these additional courses are why students change their major and shift their focus from one major to another as they explore options and find themselves changing the way their goals are oriented.
- For instance, i started with undecided, Computer Science, Creative Writing and finally English.
As for accounting, totally outside of my field of knowledge. Give us more info on who you are and why your looking at these choices. |

| - Me too, actually. There might be one or two, but I believe I need to upgrade it to become a real diploma. Quote: |

| - So basically such courses are suitable for those who REALLY know what their goal is, right? That's why I asked about accounting. With a degree in accounting, I believe one can work in just any accounting-related job. But ACCA/CIMA/etc. is limited to few jobs only... (Correct me if I'm wrong, please!) But the best part is, the branded name - an accountant vs. a CIMA professional, which is sweeter? Hehehe... Quote: |

| - That's why I could see some graduates with bunch of certifications (Foundation, Diploma/s, Degree/s, etc.), Quote: |

| - I'm currently undecided too,
- You're very well rounded, don't you nemowolf?
Thanks guys, you answered my questions and doubts as well. Really.
Pardon my bad English, I truly mean it.
Good luck! |
