70-290 - can I use standard?
my Microsoft press book came with a evaluation 2003 server enterprise edition... the thing is, i already have a fully licensed copy of 2003 standard.... while going through my Microsoft press book, can I follow along with 2003 standard or is it best to use the enterprise edition they provided?

I think it is best to use the cd that came with it, but to be sure, you could make it a dualboot.
Keep your standard version on there and install Enterprise next to it for the duration of the course.
Probably 85% of what you need in 2003 can also be found in standard, just a few things that you would really need EE for.
I think EE has support for more cpu's and ram, but you won't get to that limit, unless you have one of them skulltrail things or a dual quadcore Opteron or Xeon.2 x Opteron 4280 2.8Ghz, Asus KCMA-D8, 32GB DDR3 1600, Asus 6950 DCII 1GB 2 x M4 64GB SATA600, Caviar Black 640GB, Seagate 1TB, 27"syncmaster

Yes you can use either, enterprise has some extra stuff (supports more memory, cpus, radius clients, etc)
You should be fine with whatever you pick.
