Hello,
I recently started working a night HelpDesk job at a local hospital. I enjoy the job, and I have spare time during the night to get some studying in. Also, the hospital will pay for the exam costs of any certifications that I want to get. So my plan is to get as many as possible. I would like to go for my CCNA, but I am also considering some Citrix certification because here at the hospital we use a lot of Citrix applications.
Is anyone familiar with or have any Citrix certifications?
Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA), Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA), Citrix Certified Integration Architect (CCIA) or Citrix Certified Sales Professional (CCSP)
Any helpful information is appreciated! Thanks |

We rely heavily on Citrix for remote access, and is critical to our operations for remote access.
It allows us to restrict access to smart card logon as well which is mandatory for our users to login.
I'd probably start with the CCA then work your way up, I'd say that CCEA would be next but would suggest getting serious server side experience before working with the architecture.
There's no better substitute for learning true architecture than actually working with the product in an enterprise environment. |

I think I will go for the CCA, I wish I could find a good up to date book on the subject! If anyone knows of one please let me know, I couldn't find anything up to date on Amazon. |

The thing with Citrix is that they arnt making much progress and even new versions are mostly fixes. You should be fine with something semi-up-to-date. |

Okay, so im guessing this was spammed but i want to back pedal my statement. I just finished their 1259? class on Administrating 4.5/5.0 and i have to say i am VERY impressed. My company has been under utilizing some of the features and not even using most of them. There are some new features for 4.5/5.0 that are just simply awesome.
I have been doing research on the various certs for Citrix. I can't recommend a good book but if you have the scratch to take the class you can take the exam cert without much of a problem. I am looking into finding my local testing centers this week so i can take the exam next week. |

A coworker of mine is in the process of taking the test, he has already taken the online portion and is soon going to take the exam (from what he tells me). He said that he has study material that he will let me use, so I am still waiting on that from him before I get started with this unfortunately.
I'm excited about it, and I wish you luck on deciding what exams you want to take and pass! If the study material I get is something useful I will post it here for others who may want to pursue this. |
