I want to learn HTML to start learning web design. What is the best way to do so? I'm not the kind to sit with a book and go through it. I live near ATL. |

Check out your local Technical Colleges. Most of them have basic HTML and Java courses which are relativly inexpensive, usually offered online and you can probably get a certificate out of it. (at least with a class it's not just you and a book) |

Not to sound like a complete ass but damn I've gotta agree with Nemo you've got the entire web at your hands to find info about HTML but you need to put the effort in to do it. There are tons of great sites out there with tutorials, start with this one and go from there. Introduction to HTML

What I meant by " I 'm not one to just sit with a book adn learn it" is that some people can just buy a book and learn about things like that. I'm a more auditory, and kinetic learner. |

Then I'd suggest getting your hands dirty, find a free html editor you like and start searching for tutorials and jump right in. Hell YouTube has some decent video tutorials if you don't like reading, which BTW is what you'll do all day if you hand code pages. |

I have seen dreamweaver. I just wanted to know where to start.
There is a business development center at Emory that teaches classes on consecutive Saturdays in HTML beginning and intermediate dreamweaver, cascading style sheets, and java. I think I'll take some of those. |
