Do you already have a method for subnetting?

    we usually take : 1 bit give 2 subnet 0 and 1
    2 bits give u 4 subnet 00 01 10 11
    3 bits give u 8 subnet 000 001 010 011 100 101 110 111
    and so on
the question Divide like : 100.200.150.0/25 into 4 Networks :
so it will be using 2 bits or 3 bits ? because the answer i got that host will be 2^5-2 and 4 subnet fit in 2 bits why they took the 3 bits rather than 2 bits
... if you can explain i'll be thankfull and if u find mine complex say yours i'll try to understand it
    thanks
    Regards, KAD

    Right.
Can you please post the exact text of the problem in question?
Is it from a book, a website or a real life situation?
