    A+ Essentials Tomorrow

Tomorrow I am taking my A+ Essentials Certification Exam at New Horizons. I completed the week long class with them, and have been craming nonstop the last couple of days. My teacher really psyched me out when he said 50% of all students failed the test the first time. Sorry but I am not made of money no more, maybe prior to the kids and wifey, but I cannot afford to drop an other 170 dollars to retake this test.

Any last second pointers from those who already have taken the test? Things to watch out for? Things you felt you should have studied more on?

    Thanks

Don't be psyched out and remember to read the entire question twice unless your running out of time.

The questions are designed to trip you up because you don't read the entire question. Lots of information is given but sometimes only some of it really relates to the question. so just pay attention to what your doing, focus. You will do just fine.

definately pay very close attention to the question. They like to use negative questions a lot and if you skim the question, you could be answering something that wasn't asked.

For example instead of asking which of the following is a function of ram? it might ask which of the following is NOT a function of ram?

Also watch for when they ask which of the following BEST describes ....
The answers here may not look 100% correct and once in a while they are worded in a very ambiguous way, but remember in this case your task is to choose the BEST answer(s).

Also it can help sometimes if you look at the question and identify the answers you know for sure are wrong so you can ignore some answers right off the bat narrowing down your selection from maybe 4 items to only 2.

    Hope this helps.
