I just received the Learning C# book by O'Reily and will be putting that on my active read list.
I have no budget for Certs or Training this year through my work, so i am mostly working on personal growth. Next year, assuming they manage to return the training budget, i am going to see if they can get me some study materials for the Citrix Xen App Cert. I think that based on my understanding of the building of a farm, I would make an excellent Citrix Specialist.
My goals to join my companies Server side team appears to be foiled as we are not hiring anyone to replace the lost capabilities in my current department. So im backburnering M$ certs for the time being. |

Starting to get into the LPI level 1. Probably won't take the exams until next year but I'm getting my Linux VMs ready and getting the study material.

What about you GZ3? | I was toying around with the Vmware one, but sort of edging towards the the CCIE instead. I have a bunch of the material, I just need to set a date and start. I know ill need at least 6 months to prep for the written, but Im worried about leaving for bootcamp before I can do the written part. |

I'm debating weather or not to get any certs. If I can skip A+ and go for something a little more challenging, then I'd be more open to the idea. Any suggestions for where I should start off?
ATM I'm continuing my CS degree. |

Currently studying for my A+ i want to get it this fall. Going to start studying net + next spring. Ill be graduating with an associates in computer network administration in may. Hopefully when i graduate ill have 2 certs to make up for lack of work experience. So that HR will pass my resume on so i can get an interview to sell my self.
Ive been studying hardware components and prices. Im fairly good at picking out decent components for fellow users looking to upgrade or build.
which a+ test is the best to take the 602 exam or essentials. |

Well Comptia has a Linux certification that goes over Linux in a broad way. I hear its actually kind of hard because of the silly questions they ask.
As for windows, start here: http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en...t-default.aspx If you go down this route I would suggest a beefy machine with vmware server or something and some licenses for windows so you can do your own lab.
I'm not familiar with the programming world. I don't really do much of it and just glancing around the certifications all depend on the language you want to learn.
Here is a link for the Java certification as an example Java Certification - SCJA &SCJP| Sun Certification | Sun Training |
