| What to study for 70-290? - Are the following enough to pass;?
Hello
So I've got the official MS Press book, I must admit, it doesn't read to well.
I've gathered some other sources of study, and will sit the test next week.
Here is a log-file (cmd /k "ls --color=auto "C:\70-290" > log.txt") of my 70-290 folder;
• CertMagic | 070-290 | StudyGuide.pdf
• 70-290 CBT Nuggets – Windows Server 2003 Environment
• 70-290.Training.Kit.pdf
• 70290SE.exe
• efsg_ms70290.pdf
• ep_ms70290_fast_facts.pdf
• ŁearnKey 70-290
• Microsoft exam 70-290 preparation guide.docx
• Windows Server 2003 Group P...pdf (LearnThat)
• Windows Server 2003 Group Policy and Security.pdf
• Winstructor – Managing Windows Server 2003 Environment 70-290
So far I've seen a bit of CBT Nuggets, and read a bit of the Training Kit & efsg_ms70290 (ExamForce).
I'm planning to read;
• Windows Server 2003 Group Policy and Security.pdf
• ep_ms70290_fast_facts.pdf
• efsg_ms70290.pdf
• CertMagic | 070-290 | StudyGuide.pdf
And watch;
• Winstructor – Managing Windows Server 2003 Environment 70-290
Before doing the test, in the next 7 days.
Can you please tell me if I'll need to read or watch anything else in order to pass the exam?
(including things I haven't ls'd out of my 70-290 folder)
Thanks in advance,
Panarchy
PS: If you think what I've listed to study in the next week is enough to pass, please also reply to tell me that. Thank you! |

Id almost say your over studying and not doing any practical. Get yourself a VM fired up with 2k3 and start playing with all this info you have in your head. Dont be a paper tiger! |

Woh! Don't go too far with those comments!
I've had 4 Virtual Machines running for my 70-270 exam, and now have 2 new ones (Server 2003 R2 SP2) and will be scavenging the other computers in the house to gain 5 Virtual/Physical workstations/servers!
The annoying thing about the MCPs, is there may be a better way of doing something, but they don't want to know about it! So I'd be using a better implementation of there product, and they want me to know how to utilise there implementation!
So I've gotta read the texts and watch the videos to catch up on that front.
The study materials are also helpful for situations where I've never had to use the tool mentioned (eg; csvde)

That should be enough, I used the CBTnuggets when I was doing the windows 2003 cert route along with the MS material and I was able to pass |

You are aware of the following; Quote:

Before doing the test, in the next 7 days. | Once again, I haven't made enough time for it, and will end up watching all the WinStructors tomorrow & on the day of the test. With the reading materials, I've read efsg_ms70290.pdf (ExamForce) & am reading ep_ms70290_fast_facts.pdf (ExamForce, seems to of been taken from the review chapter of a Sybex book). I will read (probably tomorrow, if not then on the day of the test) the CertMagic Study Guide (confirmed non-braindump).
Looks like I've got my work cut out for me!
The question remains though, "Will it be enough to enable me to pass the exam?"

Well its pretty much up to your knowledge(experience) by exam time. I found the 70-290 really easy simply because I work on 2003 every day.
I think you have more than enough material to study and prepare for, the question stands do you have enough time? |

Take your time, read the questions and mark any that you might want to review. After you are done and if you have time go back and review ALL the questions. However changing your answers is usually not recommended unless you are 100% sure!
Good luck! |
