Congrats!!
Is your ultimate goal to get a CCIE? I've got a co-worker slowly working his way there. He's got a long road ahead still but he thinks it will be worth it.

Good Job!
I dont understand the whole cisco thing, lol. Is that pretty much about configuring routers and such?

There's a lot to know about configuring Cisco routers and switches.
It also covers networking principles, good network design (using Cisco of course ) as well as how to diagnose and fix problems with Cisco routers, switches, etc... Probably more that I don't know about. This is what my co-worker who's a CCNP.
You get into the higher end Cisco equipment and it's very complex.

Thanks for all the congrats, it feels good to be done, but odd not picking up a book every spare second. Quote: Originally posted by SeanC

| I am not sure about CCIE, I am not that kind of person, my vision of a CCIE is a firefighter, a person who hops on a plane on a moments notice to fix a problem that cannot be done by any one in house. I like to do the design and network setup/config across all levels, plus I dont have the $$$$ to do CCIE right now and the exam fee is $1000 for the written and I forget what the fee is for the hands-on lab. |
