After hearing a little bit more about this, I have to say that the student was absolutely at fault. First, he tried to enter the computer lab without an ID. So as far as the law goes, he's trespassing. He was non-compliant, the police asked him to leave and he didn't. He refused to leave so he was non-lethally subdued with a taser. He was looking for a fight and he got it. Quote: |

As long as you don't trespass or fail to follow an officers orders, I don't think you'll have anything to worry about.
I dont know how old you are but, I'm guessing that you're not in college. Many colleges take security very serisouly and they ask that you show an ID to enter buildings to make sure that the people using the facilities are actually those who pay for it. It's a simple request, and apparently all the other thousands of UCLA students can figure out how to comply with it.

The moral of the story, if you don't have your student ID don't use school facilities that require it!

...yep i like that moral... Although i had some run-ins with our security over parking and they are definately non-compliant on their end, the thing that sucks is we have STUDENTS!!! yes students, but they work for security and go to classes full-time that carry TASERS!! So thats why i park away from them now

Are you people kidding me??? I am very disappointed in Sean, Shawshenk and Zen. I know the OP didn't post an article, just the youtube video, but come on. This guy did NOTHING wrong. Actually I am lying, he forgot his student ID, which apparently is now a taserable offense. http://dailybruin.com/news/articles.asp?id=38958
Next time one of you are tasered multiple times for forgetting your drivers license, I guess its ok if all of us have a good laugh over it.

What ever happened to "I'm sorry officer, I don't have it with me. I leave and go get it." ?
If you want to show "attitude" with the cops, expect a little "attitude" in return.
They could have arrested him for trespassing and let him plead "not guilty" and bring his documents to the DA and ask for a dismissal.

I can see the problem about the ID but I do think tasering somebody multiple times is a little extreme - a taser makes your muscles spasm which makes you extremely exhausted (like you just had a hard workout) so I could see why it would be hard for him to get up after a couple hits when they kept telling him to get up. He might of just been being stubborn too. Oh well, I guess we'll see what comes of it.
