Like China and Russia are just going to allow the US to cut off their oil supply!

I watched an interview with Barry McCaffrey yesterday where he said that we don't have the capability to take out their facilities; not quickly, anyway. And that Iran would immediately shut down the entire Persian Gulf.
Where do you stand on this, Chuckie? |

Let's not rush into this like the last time. Quote: Hersh: CIA Analysis Finds Iran Not Developing Nuclear Weapons
A month before the November 7 legislative elections, Hersh wrote, Vice President Dick Cheney attended a national-security discussion that touched on the impact of Democratic victory in both chambers on Iran policy.
"If the Democrats won on November 7th, the vice president said, that victory would not stop the administration from pursuing a military option with Iran," Hersh wrote, citing a source familiar with the discussion.
Cheney said the White House would circumvent any legislative restrictions "and thus stop Congress from getting in its way," he said.
The Democratic victory unleashed a surge of calls for the Bush administration to begin direct talks with Iran.
But the administration's planning of a military option was made "far more complicated" in recent months by a highly classified draft assessment by the Central Intelligence Agency "challenging the White House's assumptions about how close Iran might be to building a nuclear bomb," he wrote.

| Part of the first stage of an attack would to be to sink the wreckage they call a navy.
They can only do what we let them. And that by the way goes for developing nuclear weapons to use on Israel, Europe, and the USA.
We have the capability to take our much of their production and slow them down. My question is what the Dem's plan to do about it.
Funny, in one breath it's "Bush lied, kids died" due to faulty intelligence, yet you'll grasp at any straw saying the obvious isn't true. Just what does anyone think Iran is doing with centrifuges? Making ice cream?
We don't have good enought "boots on the ground" intelligence to be sure what stage they are at. I for one, believe what Amrijinadad says.

If we bomb Iran I may move to Canada. Or Mexico, it's warmer there. |

Funny thing is, Chuckie, a Dem is not the Commander-in-Chief. Why do so many now demand that they act as if they were?
IMO, this will never happen, because Bush would have to follow surreal right out the door if he tried to pull something like that.
How could he justify it? He's let North Korea build a bomb. |

I don't know about Israel, maybe they told Bush to do it, no matter what, but Europe and the rest of the world don't want oil at $200 a barrel. They know Iran is more than a decade away from even making an explosive device, never mind all the technical hurdles they must overcome, it then has to be small enough to fit on a missile, so it wont happen in my life time.
Send Clinton over to Iran, he'd negoitate an agreement in no time.
Bush and his administration are refusing to talk to Iran, is this some special republican negotiation technique, they won't reach any agreement that way, so it's obvious what Bush wants.
Israel has told him to do it, if God has also, then it's on.
As far as chuckies, ' they can only do what we let them do,' is crap.
I suppose the rabble in Iraq, are only doing what you let them do.'
Get back in to the real world, this isn't a video game where you can restart if your plans don't work.
Why don't you learn from experience chuckie, Bushes plans never work. |

Well, Pexster, there is a big difference between North Korea and Iran. North Korea is ruled by a egomaniac who wants nothing more then to continue his rock star lifestyle (BTW, lay blame where it ought to lay; President Clinton let Kim Il Jong build their nukes, this is not an overnight process) and Iran is ruled by a bunch of Islamic zealots who are hell bent on destroying Israel in an attempt to bring back the 12th Imam. Kim Il Jong can be kept in check, Iran I fear is not rational enough to be kept in check by the international community. Once they develop their first nuke, it will end up in Tel Aviv.
