Before you libs get all huffy, "Magic Negro" was coined by one of your own, David Ehrenstein.

Read on: Obama the 'Magic Negro' LA Tmes By David Ehrenstein.

How much of the U.S. population does Limbaugh represent?
That was disturbing.

And your title is wrong. It should read, Rush Limbaugh: "Barack the Magic Negro" sung to "Puff the Magic Dragon"

Theo... you gotta stop reading into it... as its just basic humor...
if a person can't do that sometimes.... your bound to wind up and just explode.

I read the David Ehrenstein piece and disagree with it most vehemently. I particularly despise the ill treatment and short shrift he gives Sidney Poitier. I've also read Mr. Poitier's autobiography, and he had good and valid reasons for accepting the roles he did. (And, by the way, other good and valid reaons for absolutely refusing other roles that he felt portrayed his race negatively.)

I really tire of hearing certain African-Americans opine on whether other African-Americans are "black enough" or, in Mr. Obama's case, if he is even allowed to call himself an African-American. This is precisely the sort of claptrap and attitude that gives both the outright and the hidden racists their ammunition.

Mr. Poitier is an honorable man, and I'm sure Mr. Obama is also. Neither needs some self-appointed African-American "culture czar" to grant them stature. They have both earned it.

It's not that they are black...they are liberals, and thats the only way they know how to influence others. They know no boundaries.
