And here we are, economy in a shit-hole making war 5 years later(longer than WWII) fighting, paying and dying for "The War Against Terrorism"(They added the word "Global" to avoid the offensive acronym). And not a single candidate can take a solid active stance for or against the boondoggle it's become. Domestic economic policies? Gimme a break! Pants and pantsuit pockets are full of special interest coin.

Want your country back MTA and others? Wait until summer/fall. We The People have spoken yet were ignored and media-muzzled, labeled as ideological Constitutional kooks. And it makes the Revolution very dangerous in comparison to the Boston Tea party. This isn't a gay parade or million man march on the Mall.

The fight rages on
Quote:
Details are sketchy, but we're told supporters of Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul took over party conventions in several Missouri counties Saturday, including Jackson County, electing Ron Paul slates in several of them.

Delegates elected at the county level will attend congressional district conventions in several weeks, where roughly half of the state's delegates to the Republican National Convention will be picked.

The rest will be picked at the party's state convention in late May and early June, again by delegates picked by the county convention attendees.

Neocons apparently don't like Ron Paul.

Quote:
Mr. Paul says that neoconservatives who hijacked the Republicans extol what he most abhors: the belief that government is part of the solution, not the problem, and that America's inherent beneficence entitles it to force selected other nations to make themselves over in America's image. That's partly the reason why, even though Mr. McCain has crossed the finish line of this marathon, Mr. Paul will keep running in states with upcoming primaries.

---
As of 20Mar he's secured enough delegates to represent at the Repub Convention btw. It's still McCain and Paul for the GOP nomination.
If hot-head "Mc-100-year-War" goes down in flames via scandal it could get interesting. Ron Paul can chew up and spit out Hillary and Barack combined on domestic economic and foreign policy.

To your satisfaction, perhaps but I doubt to the satisfaction of majority voting Americans. After all, his so called "domestic policy" is to not have anything that can even be classified as a domestic policy...other than slash and burn.

Do some homework sir. He clearly outlines in detail exactly what his domestic solutions are. The airtime he got was so short he could only high-level discuss his position. Most voters are sheep who learned how to vote for entitlement programs and to be secure from the Islamic Boogeyman.

He doesnt operate within the politics of fear-mongering, posturing and stumping for votes, but solutions. He's a doctor, war vet, businessman and grandfather. As the recession deepens it will be more apparent that maybe he might have something worth listening to.

Plus the National RealID mandate effective May 10 he opposed back in '05 is a shot in the arm.

"Ron Paul now has an opportunity(albeit small) to win an even larger prize in a race he can win. Ron Paul's task during the 11th and 112th Congress will be to protect the Constitution of the United States and assure that the uninterrupted protection of the Bill of Rights continues—not as Congressman Ron Paul, but as Speaker of the House Ron Paul. This would make Ron Paul the third most powerful person in the United States. As House Speaker, Ron Paul can be a true and effective advocate of the people.

Ron Paul possesses one characteristic no other conservative since Ronald Reagan has been able to invoke. He was able to mobilize the soldiers in the Ron Paul Revolution and keep them focused on his dream. It is a dream of the type of liberty envisioned by the Founding Fathers and the inalienable rights that were guaranteed by the US Constitution in the Bill of Rights.

When he entered the race for the White House, Congressman Ron Paul was the 27th most powerful GOP member of the House of Representatives according to Knowlegis. What troubles the political elites most about Dr. Paul is that his political philosophy closely dovetailed with the philosophy of the Founding Fathers. That philosophy was non-interventionism. From 1787 to 1917 the United States faithfully observed that policy.

When Congressman Ron Paul embarked on the quest for the White House these were the things he thought about, and these were issues that troubled him. What also troubled him very much was the fact—and how well he grew to know it—unless the media anoints you as a first tier candidate you are doomed to run the silent race, and the electorate will not vote for you in numbers sufficient to prevail. No candidate can win the presidency without day-in, day-out TV news coverage. And the media only anoints those who get the nod from the crown heads of industry and banking. The fact that Ron Paul—the 5th most senior Congressman in Texas—became the top GOP presidential money-raiser in the 4th quarter of 2007 speaks volumes for the love and respect the American people have for this man.

Dr. Ron Paul has become the "can-do" man. While the merchant princes and lords of industry have placed the White House out of his grasp, Dr. Paul has captivated a nation, and those he has captivated who proudly call themselves soldiers in the Ron Paul Revolution are fighting now to give Dr. Paul the other House—on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue—the US House of Representatives.

Dr. Paul is offering the American people a new prescription to revitalize America. The Ron Paul Revolution is phase two of the Republican Revolution. Only this time around, no empty promises. Dr. Paul's plan to revitalize prosperity in America is a four-point program that entails tax reform, spending reform, monetary policy reform and regulatory reform.

When Ron Paul gave up his quest for the White House and asked his grassroots supporters to continue to support him in the voting booth, most of them, fed by the emails of other grassroots Ron Paul stalwarts, believed there might still be a chance to prevail at the convention in Minneapolis where a floor fight might convince enough McCain delegates to switch, and nominate a candidate more to the liking of conservative America. Dr. Paul was not at all coy about what he was trying to do, but it took his supporters more than a few days to embrace the idea. "We're not holding out an illusion that Ron is going to win the nomination," his National Field Director Debbie Hopper said, "It's about calling the Republican Party back to its roots." Missouri Ron Paul field leaders confirmed that when they said they were not being driven by a quest to resurrect Ron Paul's bid for the White House. The thrust of their efforts is to force the Republican hierarchy to embrace Ron Paul's Prescription for Prosperity.

If the Ron Paul activists can mobilize the "sit at home" I-guess-it's-McCain Conservatives through the spring and summer and impact the primaries in what States have not yet voted on their Congressional or Senatorial races, it will be possible to dump entrenched incumbents and bring fresh faces to Washington in November—a new Republican Revolution, the Ron Paul Revolution, that can take back Congress and bring sanity back to the process of governance in the nation's capital."
