I think you can figure it out. Even you should be smart enough for that.
I hate our current government and absolutely despise the war we are in and our foreign policy, why would I join the military? |

If they use it enough they might not need to ask similar questions in the future. |

As much as I disagree with many U.S. policies, the armed forces will always be hiring. I'm contemplating joining a branch when I'm done with school. |

I'll make it simple for ya' . . .
Then you'll be able to make knowledgable comments about what the military does.

That is one thing this country seriously needs to change.
Military service should be a mandatory requirement for citizenship.

Heck, I could be making $80k/year right now as a PHP developer, that would be my first real "job" as a PHP dev, with just 2 years or so of working with it in my spare time/when I want to.
I'd like to join a military (not ours) to learn a lot and get into police work afterwords, but I can only do so many things and I'd rather get into networking/security, then probably teaching. Or perhaps after a few years of networking/security I could join a militia, then work at becoming a teacher. Who knows...I'll just see how things are after a few years. |

This country would be dead within weeks of a law like that being passed. |

I don't know enlisted or officer salary, so I can't really make an argument...but once you consider not having to buy food, clothes, utilities, etc. when you're deployed, you end up with a good amount of money in your pockets. |
