So, I guess theyd still come over Rio Grande in droves...
We need to put up a fence, several checkpoints and gates, allow them to come thru, and talk to military reps... who would then get them situated, and shipped off to boot camp.

Epi, I would have selected more options but for the wording of the poll title, "I would allow 1 final amnesty if:"
I do not agree in any way with "1 final amnesty" thus the only reply I felt was applicable for me was "No amnesty no how!!!". |

State and local government assistance in tracking down illegals? Riiiiiiiight. Unless there is a reason for a crackdown, the police in this area will not likely to go picking up illegals. Especially in the cities that have higher crime rates (i.e. Oakland, Richmond, Vallejo, etc.)
I know that at least Oakland has signs directing people to where they can pick up day laborers.
I'll go along with the idea that they should learn English if living here. The problem is that they really don't see a reason to (nor does it appear they honestly need to learn English). It's quite possible to live and work in large communities while having only a basic knowledge of English. |

12-20 million people here.
that means that the economy would need to function with 12 to 20 million less people. this sounds like a recipe for disaster. This is why I feel amnesty is still required. there simply are not enough bodies in America including all the unemployed to fill the employment demands.
we will need to up the quota to levels at or near current illegal quantities.
2 million a year from all nations though. |

I do not agree. What it would do is force companies to pay American workers a decent wage and re-establish the middle-class that is rapidly becomng extinct and replaced with a poverty class. The economics of it all would level out within a couple years. Prices are going to go up no matter what. |

the 20 million bodies are not here so you will need to get them from somewhere or they will have to be replaced with machines. the work needs to be done no matter what.
Legalizing the aliens will increase wages due to the simple fact you can no longer exploit their status for profit.
I would probably error on a the side of shortfall but I believe we need millons per year to fill the jobs legal or not.
PS we both agree that current system depresses wages. |

You wouldn't have to replace all 20 million workers. Many companies would fail because you're also removing 20 million consumers. |

THEY DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE HERE!.. They need to do it legally.
WE also NEED to change the system of immigration.. Press those that are of age into service, and THEN work from there... |

I think genocide is the answer. Why is that not a poll option? |
