It works like this:
You are in Walmart and want to buy a set of pots and pans. The "Made in China" pots and pans are $ 12.99 a set. The equal quality, "Made in USA" pots and pans are $ 19.99 a set. Why do you think China is getting all of the business?
Who's fault is that? Yup. You and me for being thrifty shoppers who want to stretch a dollar as far as it can go.

Chuck, it's a double-edged sword that we're now finding out about cheap Chinese goods - they cut every corner in the manufacturing process and often sacrifice safety. I'm not buying any Chinese made toothpaste soon, now matter how cheap.
All those nasty government regulations and inspections that conservatives bitch about here, we wish were duplicated in China.

Actually, my company own two plants in China and those colleagues get paid quite well. Of course, these plants supply drug substances for worldwide distribution and they get inspected by government agencies from all over, so they earn their pay. |
