"Offshoring of design work can also impose downward pressure of U.S. wages and reduce the demand for U.S. design engineers," the report warned. "As the number of overseas design centers increases, it may [also] draw foreign talent from the United States."
Citing Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) estimates, the report states that the number of engineers employed offshore by U.S. chip makers climbed by more than 10,000 between 2000 and 2003. U.S. engineering employment de- clined by 4,000 during the same period. According to the study, "Most of the 4,000 to 5,000 employees of U.S. companies in India represent jobs lost to the U.S. economy."

There's no point trying to tell you that it's not in the interests of the American people to export their jobs, obviously as long as you're ok why worry about others who's jobs have gone overseas, and graduates who won't find a decent job in the US, because executives are given multi million dollar bonuses to cut costs by slashing jobs in America. |

What that article failed to mention is that US businesses import more skilled foreign workers than outsource jobs. And the reason they do this is a shortage of educated nationals. The evidence that supports this is the 2% unemployment rate among college educated US citizens. |

There seems to be a misconception about the shortages of qualified applicants for jobs. http://www.informationclearinghouse....ticle17909.htm Quote:
How Fake Job Ads Defraud Americans To Secure Green Cards For Immigrants:
Immigration attorneys from Cohen & Grigsby explains how they assist employers in running classified ads with the goal of NOT finding any qualified applicants, and the steps they go through to disqualify even the most qualified Americans in order to secure green cards for H-1b workers. See what Bush and Congress really mean by a "shortage of skilled U.S. workers." Microsoft, Oracle, Hewlett-Packard, and thousands of other companies are running fake ads in Sunday newspapers across the country each week
| Watch the video, and see how they get around not having to employ the better qualified local candidate for jobs. |

Many foreigners can travel to Venezuela without a visa. But now there's a new requirement once they get there. President Hugo Chavez announced on Sunday that foreigners who publicly criticize his government will be deported. He ordered officials to monitor statements made by international figures visiting the country. The comments came after the President of Mexico's ruling conservative party criticized Chavez for seeking to do away with term limits at a recent pro-democracy conference in Caracas. "No foreigner, whoever it is, can come here to attack us," Chavez said. "How long are we going to allow a person, from any country in the world, to come to our own house to say there's a dictatorship here, that the President is a tyrant, and no one does anything about it?"
