"in order to accomplish his plan, the government must have the ability to read all the information crossing the Internet in the United States in order to protect it from abuse."
| The article goes on to say: Quote: |
"Americans will have to trust the government not to abuse the authority it must have in order to protect our networks, and yet, historically the government has not proved worthy of that trust."
| Do you?

On second thought, it doesn't matter. Hell no.

Nah even I feel this is over stepping bounds a bit.
1) infrastructure needed would be enormous for people to sift through such crap would cost too much.
2) to protect banks assess bank traffic not the entire net. So much information would dilute any worthy information into obscurity.
3) Wasting time on my porn surfing habits takes away resources from actually fighting terrorism |

I trust the goobernment as far as I can throw it...which isn't very far, since it's a big, fat, sloppy, pig whore.
Let's just say I trust the federal government to do the wrong thing 97.532% of the time. |

The ONLY time the govt did anything remotely right in this country, was
the emancipation proc, womens sufferage, war of independence, and the US Army 101st Airborne.... and in 47' the USAF...
Other than that, not really.

It's quite telling how many people are voting that they don't trust the government, then turn around and trust them that unconstitutional and oppressive legislation will be applied honestly and ethically, trusting the government not to abuse the powers our founders so explicitly forbid due to the corruption such powers has created throughout all of man's history. And to top it off they turn around and ridicule those who distrust the government on issues their media parrots tell them require "patriotic backing".
This country is being flushed.
