| Well we were informed today at work that there will be protesters outside our company tomorrow, (environmentalists) and they told me I cannot go punch any of them, I hate that, What a bunch of morons, there protesting my company cutting trees down, They have been cutting trees down on the same land for almost 70 years, they have not bought one acre of land sense, and last year the Minnesota forestry department said that there are more trees in our state then there was in the 1800.s It’s going to be 45 degrees below zero tomorrow, so I also suggested we go out front and cut a tree down and build them a camp fire to keep warm, They better not say anything to me, pissing me off, |

Its OfficeMax and Boise paper. The big dispute is about some tract of forest in Canada or something is what the corporate announcement said. Some OfficeMax retail stores could get some protesters, but for the most part it'll be at the company HQ and at the Boise HQ.

I guess I am at a loss as to what the point of this thread is... that you're an internet tough guy?
Do you have any actual information to share?
What's their concern? Why are they protesting?
Sure there are more trees... but are there more forests? Are tree plantations really "more trees now"?
Are they pissed off because your company clear-cutting a stand of old growth forest? Or is your company simply harvesting some trees they replanted 50 years ago?
Does your company practice sustainable forestry with selective cutting? Or are they scorched earth sorts of guys? |

| yeah, thats absolutely nothing
I don't work tomorrow so I'm in the clear. I highly doubt anything would happen down here though.
EDIT: Gomer, here's a link. http://ran.org/what_we_do/old_growth...max_grand_toy/
the protest involves an old growth forest area called Grassy Narrows in Ontario.

they have been cutting on the same land for years, they plant more trees then they cut, so they can go back and cut them again, on the same land,
it's all forest, and it's still all forest,
the point was I don't get what there protesting, but also did not here anything about land in canada, i'll have to look it up, see whats the scoop, |
