Regarding the thread - you saw what happened in California - 61% of the people voted that "marriage was between one man and one woman", and they just tossed out our votes.

Regarding the military, the left will do the same thing Clinton did - cut forces, cut readiness, make them ambulance drivers for the UN. Oh, and only hire orphans so "inconvenient" problems like Somalia won't sting so much.

That's the beauty of a constitution, even a majority cannot deny the rights of the minority.

Virginia had a law that said that Whites couldn't marry Blacks. The Supreme Court (Loving v. VA) said that it wasn't constitutional.

Please point out to all of us, Prexster, where I ever posted anything about any party or candidate wanting to overthrow, seize or nationalize the assets of corporations... maybe you should read "Our Undemocratic Constitution" by Sanford Levinson and then maybe you'll understand my concerns about the direction of the Democrat Party or read "The Great Experiment" by Strobe Talbott ...the the Progressive belief that all governments must eventually give up sovereignty to a UN based world government (and governance is the operative phrase for how the Left perceives the true purpose of the UN).

I don't know if you were around during the 60's, but I was and if you paid attention to the campus radicals preaching anarchy, chaos and the destruction of societal standards you can see why we have the disintegrating culture we have today, just look at what 50 years of Progressive indoctrination and psychological conditioning in schools, universities, films, TV programming etc., have gotten us: a destructive drug culture, sexual promiscuity, the destruction of the nuclear family, a self-involved, self -indulgent culture increasingly incapable of exercising moral judgment... but just wait, cultures and societies can't survive moral dissipation for long, inevitably there comes a moral backlash as people recoil in revulsion... the longer any society tries to function without a basic moral foundation, the more violent and savage the revolt... just look back in history, what society or culture has ever survived for long by being non-judgmental?
