Just heard this guy on Fresh Air. Man, people get worked up about Wright? This guy is friggin' insane! How can anyone sit and listen to this kind of crap week after week?
We all should be afraid of the simpletons who go to listen to people like Hagee. He's a helluva lot scarier than Wright.

One can only hope that the casual political thrill seekers and drive-by press will come to realize we're voting for the candidates, not their pastors, wives, children, cousins, mail delivery personnel, gas station attendants, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers or anyone else other than the candidates themselves.
But until then, the casual political thrill seekers and drive-by press will continue to be distracted by the irrelevant and ignore what's important. |

Personally, I don't give a crap about him and yes, I do like arguing with the wifey about what Hagee's been saying . . .
And I don't listen to any of the tele-evangelists.

Harder | He is engaging in the age old habit of pointing at someone elses bad behavior to justify the bad behavior of someone else.
See Wright ain't all bad look at this other guy. PEXTER an honest story about this guy would be about Haggee without any mention of Wright.
Each man responsible for themselves right?

I'm not justifying any behavior I consider bad. I listened to Wright's entire speech to the Press Club, and found little to disagree with. I listened to Hagee on Fresh Air, including excerpts from sermons, and the man is certifiably insane. sharder, I don't know what to say. I can't honestly apologise because I really cannot believe that people listen to this guy and take him seriously. On the other hand, I feel bad that I have cast aspersions about your wife.
I find it scary as hell that there are people like this who want to influence our foreign policy (and may well have, by some accounts) in order to fulfill some Biblical prophecies. |

| Then you are on the same level as Haggee listeners.
Wright is a racist in every sense. Just as money grubbing as any TV evangelist. He believes violence is justified to solve problems.
Different degrees of being a nasty rat means nothing, when you boil it down They are both nasty rats. |

Did you listen to the entire speech? Somehow, I doubt it. I think the big difference between many of us here is that one side firmly believes racism has been dealt with and is a historical artifact. If people would just get over it, we'd all be better off.
Others know that racism is alive and well in our society. These differences in worldviews color everything downstream.
(I never heard Wright promote violence in that speech.) |

Hell, if that is the claim, you believe violence is justified to solve problems. Truth be told, almost all of us do. Except for Gandhi, Quakers (excluding Nixon), and a few others, lol. |

I most certainly do.
The ends justify the means in some cases. |
