Here's a good quote from the link. Quote: |
"As Mahatma Gandhi said - nature has given enough to meet man's need but not enough to meet man's greed. So unless the West curbs its greed we will stay in an era of high prices," says Mr Aiyar.

Ah yes, forgive us for not wanting to live like the Amish, Aiyar. I suppose it was a bad thing we actually advanced rapidly as modern society compared to some middle eastern countries that are still stuck in the stone age.

I think it's more like the Arabs want to put the screws to us for invading Iraq and making a mess out of the Middle East. And McBush put the topping on the cake with his foreign policy proposals.
Gotta give 'em( Our Republican Leadership ) credit, when they phuck up, they do it right.
| So your point is that oil prices will go down if a Democrat is elected? The Arabs aren't helping, but you cannot argue that increased demand by India and China is somehow Bush's fault.
The problem is supply. I guess if the Democrats are right about oil then they should just order X number of wells capped per year.
The rich Democrat elite can afford $ 6.00 a gallon gas, and so can you.

the Saud's helped us invade Iraq
they are feeding money in to Iraq,
and they are glad we invaded Iraq,
and so is Kuwait, Qatar, Jordon, and most of the other states,
in fact the only ones that didn't like it was Iran and Syria
but Iran is liking the idea that we will leave soon,

| That's the answer but not the solution. Who pays for the infrastructure? We 20 years off from a competitive electric car, unless we force gasoline cars out of existence with energy taxes '08 - how do you get to work? |

Reality check: Opec isnt trying to screw us, - well not activly, they just see no real reason to increase the speed of loss of their natural resource.
MOST of the people havent changed. Most are still driving too fast, driving in expensive LOW mpg cars/suvs, and no one is really cutting back on oil usage.
Many people who are looking for a good investment cant go wrong with investing in oil futures. China is shutting down its oil production and increassing its oil imports as I posted in my "Im rich" thread.
Taken all together that means that prices will continue to go up more than just what the supply/demand system needs.

the biggest problem with electric cars is the charge time,
so eliminate the charge time,
its easy you make battery cells standard like AGP slots on a computer,
one cell fits all cars, than you can charge cell at home or if you are going on a long trip you buy a already charged cell on the road,
so the cells weigh 500 pounds they make a wheeled cart type thingy to pull the cell out of the back of your car and put charged cell in,
like putting a video card in easy, you pay maybe $10 $15 for new charged cell and your on your way,
when you are at home going to work or something you charge the cell yourself,
the only time you really need to buy new charged cell is when you are travailing long distance |

What makes you think the environmentalists will allow batteries of this size rolling along like little faux-nuclear plants?
The environmentalists will tie it up in court for years. |
