Obama said he disagreed with what Wright said. I said that I agreed. Actually, given the time and context of the speech, Wright pretty much backed Obama into a corner, forcing him to distance himself.
The main point, though, is that you are misstating what the church represents and taking one comment out-of-context. The sad thing is that you are one of the very people Obama has tried to reach out to in an attempt to have an open and honest dialogue about race relations in our society. You obviously have no interest in that as you have your mind made up. The black churches are racist, hate whitey, hate America, etc., etc., etc. All hogwash, but it makes you feel better about your society.

| I know what you said. And I'm quite certain Obama agreed with Wright, too. If you believe everything politicians say - especially Obama - in the heat of a presidential race, you need to open your eyes. Quote: |

| I don't need Obama to talk to me about race. I know how it is. I deal with race my own way - by not letting it influence me at all. Black, white, yellow, purple...I don't care. I have nothing against you - nor anything for you - if I don't know you. Quote: |

| My society is your society too, homes.

Yes, it is. I have had much more experience in it than you have, by the way. To answer your first question, Obama came out with a statement about Wright's Press Club comments very soon after said comments were made. You have essentially put him in a "no win" position in your mind. You will twist whatever he says to suit your negative image of him.
Personally, I wish we lived in a society where Obama could have stayed with the church, and told people like you to go fuck yourselves. But I'm not a politician! |

Well, you got a point there. But someone once said "You gotta eat a peck o' dirt before you die." |

The guy is a slimeball who will do anything to become President.
| If I recall correctly, McBush sought out support from several radical right-wing nut job preachers and when they said something the press jumped all over, what did McBush do? Does this make him "a guy who only does things that will help him win the presidency?"

All of this is exactly the "distractions" that Obama warned about. Instead of focusing on the important issues, we're distracted with a sideshow that will have no importance a year from now.
