That's not enough for the class of the envious...they want the rich to pay more taxes. Gotta stick it to 'em...those fat, rich bastards. It's the same people who support the windfall profits tax. It's all about envy, and apparently the belief that they will never make enough money to be taxed at such a high rate. No aspiration to become rich, so tax all the people who already are. If/when they get rich, then they can bitch about all the taxes they pay. |

It has nothing to do with envy. It has to do with running a fiscally responsible economy. Someone needs to pay our bills. Who has the money?
Do you realize that the wealth in our society is more concentrated at the very top than at any time since the Roaring '20s? You think a disappearing middle class is going to work, long term, for our society? You think said middle-class people are going to just up and will their way into the upper echelons? Because you told them to? Somehow they are not trying enough right now? Maybe they are the nation of whiners we've heard about?
Please wake up . . . .
Your blind allegiance to your ideology is leading you straight off a cliff, young man.

Your blind allegiance to your ideology is leading you straight off a cliff, young man. | I agree. The middle class has it the worst...always has, always will. They make enough to be taxed significantly, but not enough to live without worry. Gotta either be really rich - in which case, you don't have to worry about bills, or really poor - in which case, the government gives you what you need. Some people think ahead and can live comfortably where other people may not be able to.
And the concentration of wealth doesn't matter for tax purposes - $500 billion of income in the hands of one or in the hands of 100 gets taxed the same way.
Either way, as I've said 100 times before, higher taxes aren't the answer.
By the way..."disappearing middle class"? Got anything to back that up besides left-wing rhetoric? FOXNews.com - U.S. Sees Record Drop in Number of Homeless - Brit Hume | Special Report |

The top wage earners are paying a higher share of taxes than ever before in our country. Quote: |
....both the income share earned by the top 1 percent of tax returns and the tax share paid by that top 1 percent have once again reached all-time highs. In 2006, the top 1 percent of tax returns paid 39.9 percent of all federal individual income taxes and earned 22.1 percent of adjusted gross income...
| Conversely, the bottom half of wage earners are paying less in taxes than ever, an average tax rate of 3%. Yes, that's THREE PERCENT!!!
Neither Obama nor McCain can possibly balance the budget by raising taxes. |
