At this point..Who, except for the competing athlete's family members, cares ????
I try, as best I can, to NOT buy anything made in China...it's hard. But I will NOT read, listen, watch anything that has to do with...I hate to even say/write the word China. Even the commercial with the guy buying stock "That's China" makes the Adam's Apple twitch.  But the worst part is the realization , it's NOT their fault, it's ours.
