They don't make any sense!

And speaking of deep pockets…There is more and more technology that can detect fetuses with horrible birth defects. Not allowing parents to abort these children and force them or society to raise a brain dead child is crime against humanity.

Gomer, you will have to wait for them to go ask their handlers for an answer.

Gomer: I am indeed a Catholic. Any termination after conception is murder in my mind. I was discussing abortion in this thread as that was the main topic.

Steve R. Jones: I think that killing them is more of a crime against humanity. My brother works with people of all levels of mental disability. I would go as far as saying that even some of the low functioning clients are far more human than some of the people I see walking around... Some of the higher functioning clients are quite possibly smarter than you. A "mercy killing" is still murder, especially if the victim does not have a say in it.

As for the rape and incest question: I think they should have the baby. One wrong action does not give you permission for another. Why does the innocent baby have to suffer because of the atrocity that happened to the mother? Maybe make it so that if the guy is caught he gets to work another job for the rest of his life while in prison to support the baby 100%? Besides, I have met many women who have had abortions that say that the experience scarred them for life: isn't that the same emotional damage that you are trying to prevent with the abortion?

Your consistency makes it easier to respect your opinion.

Let's all join hands and say this little prayer together....On the count of three....

One....Two....Three:

Quote:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
So as law abiding citizens, we'll continue to accept the laws of the land AND ask GOD to forgive us.

But laws can be changed

And Gomer, thanks for the respect of my opinion. I hope you also understand why I am so adamant about this subject. If one does believe that it is murder, then one should try to stop said murder, which is what I am trying to do.

Yep...So lets kill (pardon the pun) several birds with one stone...All the Pro Lifers adopt a kid and get em out of the foster care system....

1. It'll help the kid out
2. It'll reduce the tax burden on all of us
3. You have another voter on your side

It is definitely something that I am looking into for the future (after I get a wife and hopefully have kids of my own as well).

Who is going to adopt the tens of thousands of discarded embryos created for the IVFs? Why aren't the ardent "pro-life" people screaming about this? Why aren't they pushing to outlaw IVF? (Maybe they are, but I sure haven't heard about it.) Anyone shot an IVF doctor lately?

Until I hear that same level of outrage ( if not a higher level, due to the numbers), I will call these people hypocrites and, in many cases, misogynists.

I specifically exempt butch from my comments because he sounds as if he is morally clear and consistent. I respect that.
