In politics, I judge a person by. . .

Many stories have come out about each of the candidates. Virtually all of the stories are about the people around the candidates, not the candidates themselves. Its as if the news expects us to change our opinions depending on what the people around the candidates do.

I was wondering, in forming an opinion about a candidate, How do you judge them?? Do you judge her/him depending on the people around them, the policies they claim they will enfoce, what the candidate says, the past performance of the candidate, or what?

How about "all of the above."

I judge them mostly by how much I believe the lies they are telling in their campaign. No new taxes? Bah... Complete health care reform? Not in my lifetime.. End to global warming? Spare me....

Non-Example: McCain's choice for VP, Palin, has an unmarried pregnant teenage daughter! Who really cares??? And if you do, why???

Of course I judge candidates only by important things. Such as the beverages they drink (beer good, wine bad), the leisure activities they practice (skimobiling good, basketball and windsurfing bad), the cars they drive (Cadillac CTS good, hybrid bad), their housing (eight houses good, one "million-dollar mansion" bad), their marriages (multiple marriages good, monogamy bad), the clothes they wear ($520 shoes good, Somali tribal clothes AWFUL).

How much they lie and flip flop (from a good stand to a bad one).

Obama and McCain are both wretched.

Do they believe in diplomacy, or do they make statements like, "we don't talk to evil."

Sex, religion, race, sexual preference, attractiveness, and how nice their outfits go together.
