A new American Research Group poll on the national economy is out, and it has at least one astonishing number in it. Asked whether the economy was getting better, staying the same, getting worse, or undecided, the number who said "getting better" was zero: Quote: |
No Americans say that the national economy is getting better, 13% say it is staying the same, and 82% say the national economy is getting worse. Among those saying they approve of the way Bush is handling his job, none say getting better, 38% say staying the same, and 49% say getting worse. Of those saying they disapprove of the way Bush is handling his job, none say getting better, 6% say staying the same, and 93% say getting worse.
| I can't remember ever seeing "zero" on a poll.

Oil up $25, dollar down 2% against Euro, Dow down 318 (at 3:26 pm EDT); down 373 at the close.
Happy days.

By the way, the same poll has Bush's overall approval rating at 19%: 3% among Democrats, 8% among independents, and only 48% among the ever-diminishing number of people who still are unashamed to call themselves Republicans.
19% is lower than Nixon's rating the week he resigned. As Matt Stoller says, "if he were impeached, I'm not sure anyone would notice." |

Gore would have been a much better choice and Bush was actually not the majority winner then. My cat could have done a better job than Bush these last eight years. The second Bush victory only highlighted yet again the gullibility of far too many American voters. These are the same idiots who think Palin is a great choice for VP. You can't fix stupidity, I guess. |
