| Obama Want's Women to Sign up for the Draft Candidates differ on female draft Quote: |
But he did say women should be expected to register with the Selective Service, comparing the role of women to black soldiers and airmen who served during World War II, when the armed forces were still segregated.
| Nice that Obama want the women to sign up for the draft. I guess they'll all be sharing the same barracks?
Obama is sooo stupid. Does he have to raise an issue where there is none? I'd say he is arrogant, but then I'd be racist according to the NY Times.

Obama doesn't agree with a draft but if implimented....
At 10 years old my father and I pulled into the parking lot of the mall. Looking up at the roof liine of the mall I say workers hauling up pea gravel for tar and gravelling the roof. I spotted a girl working with the men. "Why is that girl up there working on that kind of a job?"
My dad's answer? "If she can do the job, why not?"
To this day, it's my answer as well.

Yet again I see someone who does not understand the realities of military service like Barrack and wants to play social games with our military.
You have no idea what the tremendous expense of adding women to the combat line would entail.
So far, including myself, I have yet to hear of any woman meeting the physical requirements of a Combat Infantryman.
SS is for a dire emergency and does not need crap added to its budget.

Combat Infantryman? Fine. How about being a pilot? Driving a tank? Etc?
Combat Infantryman is not the only combat role up for grabs (through competition) is it? |

Selective Service is aimed directly at expanding the Army rapidly with Combat Infantrymen. PERIOD
No need for SS otherwise.
Once again you fail to understand the MILITARY PURPOSE of what we do.
WE ARE NOT A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT, OUR PURPOSE IS THE VERY SURVIVAL OF OUR NATION AGAINST VIOLENT ENEMIES.
Find something else to play social games with.
A Tank driver needs to be able to carry a 200 pound man out of the tank and run with him. |

That's a better answer than the the last one which placed you as a candidate for Joanna Eberhart School of Thought program.
How about pilot? |

How about pilot? | Well, once you get breast implants and estrogen injections.... we'll put a suit on you, and throw your ass in a trainer. |

The entire history of the roles of women in the U.S. military (or any other country's military, for that matter) could easily be called a "social experiment." Some seem to believe that the way things stand today is the pinnacle of achievement. Any change is immediately labelled "bad." I fail to understand this.
History did not begin yesterday or this morning. |

I'll stick with what I got thanks.
We're talking about women in combat roles if you need it simplified for you. |
