We'll just have to see how many of them get a chance to vote and how many of their votes will be allowed by various states.

It is not a poll of military personnel. It is a poll of subscribers who are in the military. Quote:
McCain, R-Ariz., handily defeated Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., 68 percent to 23 percent in a voluntary survey of 4,293 active-duty, National Guard and reserve subscribers and former subscribers to Army Times, Navy Times, Marine Corps Times and Air Force Times.
The results of the Military Times 2008 Election Poll are not representative of the opinions of the military as a whole. The group surveyed is older, more senior in rank and less ethnically diverse than the overall armed services.
| The poll also doesn't square with one done a while back that showed a majority of Army personnel favored a withdrawal from Iraq within six months of the poll date. McCain supporters could hardly share those sentiments.
But, what do I know? I'm just a dumbarse who likes to read! |

And before you start Pex . . . .
I'm just the messenger of this poll . . . that backs up what I've been saying about the majority of the Military, when it comes to politics.

Why is the "African-American" result so different than the "overall"?

I know that during the time that I was in and just about every vet I know, only sees the uniform and not the color of the skin. I don't know if things are changing, it's a fluke of this poll, or what . . . It may be race related . . . but that would suggest to me that we have a problem with racism in the military.
I know the Army and the Marines train as a team and skin/race is not a consideration to/of the team.

The Mexican vote is interesting. I'm getting inside info from the California regime that La Raza is banking on promises of relaxed border controls, but the legal Mexicans aren't siding with La Raza.
Bottom line is I never understood why the Mexicans would stand beside the blacks. They usually will not work with them. They only really socialize with their own. But then again, they only work with whites when they have to.
I've never believed that the Mexican voters will throw in with Obama in spite of what the polls say. Your poll is really interesting. Thanks for that! Quote: |

They believe in everyone being treated equally, but in off hours you hang with your buddies which in most cases are of the same race. Only the whites are living with the illusion that blacks, browns, and whites will someday colorblindedly mix socially forever after.
It it a part of human nature to "hang with your own". Yet if a white guy and a black guy were lost in China, they'd stick together since they have American culture in common.
