| Obama to create FAITH based office.
Obama creates faith-based office with wide mission Quote:
WASHINGTON – Declaring that "there is a force for good greater than government," President Barack Obama on Thursday established a White House office of faith-based initiatives with a broader mission than the one overseen by his Republican predecessor.
Obama said the new office, which he created by executive order, would reach out to organizations that provide help "no matter their religious or political beliefs."
| Faith is a force of good that is greater than the government. HM.

I agree with him that there is such a force; I just disagree about its nature.

"Faith-based" doesn't violate separation of Church from State? Will the Flying Spaghetti Monster get his own cubicle?
Oh I see, we all have faith that the sun will rise every morning. |

Still a very dangerous precedent. The silence is deafening from secularists. If it was a POTUS other than Obama creating a faith-based office there would be an national uproar. The Annointed One apparently gets a free pass based on charm, oration and peddling vapor-ware of promised hope.
He has no clue. You know it, I know it. We all know it.

Oh I see, we all have faith that the sun will rise every morning. | As usual, you have no idea what I'm talking about. I think that reason is an extremely powerful force for good.
And of course I oppose this initiative. But it's hardly a surprise; he talked about it many times during the campaign. Just because I voted for him doesn't mean I approve of everything he stands for. |

You mean I am not the only person who thinks Obama is very similar to that kid in grade school running for class president that promised 5 recesses, longer weekends and summers, and no homework, only to get elected and do whatever he felt like doing with no repercussion?

It's all about the Ice Cream. The most eye-opening civics lesson I ever had was while teaching third grade in 2000. The presidential election was heating up and some of the children showed an interest. I decided we would have an election for a class president. We would choose ournominees. They would make a campaign speech and the class would vote.
To simplify the process, candidates were nominated by other class members.
We discussed what kinds of characteristics these students should have. We got many nominations and from those, Jamie and Olivia were picked to run for the top spot.
The class had done a great job in theirselections. Both candidates were good kids. I thought Jamie might havean advantage because he got lots of parental support. I had never seen Olivia's mother. The day arrived when they were to make their speeches. Jamie went first. He had specific ideas about how to make our class a better place. He ended by promising to do his very best. Everyone applauded.
He sat down and Olivia came to the podium. Her speech was concise. She said, 'If you will vote for me, I will give you ice cream.' She sat down. The class went wild. 'Yes! Yes! We want ice cream.' She surely should have said more. She did not have to. A discussion followed. How did she plan to pay for the ice cream?
She wasn't sure. Would her parents buy it or would the class pay for it? She didn't know. The class really didn't care. All they were thinking about was ice cream. Jamie was forgotten. Olivia won by a land slide.
Every time Barack Obama opens his mouth he offers ice cream, and fifty percent of America reacts like nine-year-olds. They want ice cream. The other fifty percent know they're going to have to feed the cow. |
