| Some Global Warming news from across the pond What happened to global Warming? Quote:
According to research conducted by Professor Don Easterbrook from Western Washington University last November, the oceans and global temperatures are correlated.
The oceans, he says, have a cycle in which they warm and cool cyclically. The most important one is the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO).
For much of the 1980s and 1990s, it was in a positive cycle, that means warmer than average. And observations have revealed that global temperatures were warm too.
But in the last few years it has been losing its warmth and has recently started to cool down.
These cycles in the past have lasted for nearly 30 years.
So could global temperatures follow? The global cooling from 1945 to 1977 coincided with one of these cold Pacific cycles. | |

Which one of you has move to the other side of the pond?
If you're going to cherry pick from a somewhat comprehensive article why don't you bother to go get the actual study and post that?
If you're going to be so impassioned about something, one would think that you'd do your best to try to understand it. |

Which one of you has move to the other side of the pond? | You need to brush up on your reading comprehension. The "news" as stated in the thread title, came from the beeb. Or you never bothered to read the piece. Quote:

If I was even slightly impassioned, I would've posted something other than an article from some schmuck at the BBC. Take it for what it is. Honestly gomer, lighten up!

They don't call it Global Warming anymore. It's Global Climate Change because they obviously don't know where the hell it's going like the rest of us. |

I was starting to get excited about the prospect of NJ sinking into the ocean and PA getting some oceanfront property.....

I don't know why anyone even bothers to discuss this anymore. The rational among us know all this global warming/climate change hoohah has been thoroughly debunked. Arguing with those still clinging to these ideas is a waste of time as they don't require any real evidence to support their position.

I won't say it is debunked but I still have questions regarding the theory and quantities of co2 that are required to cause serious impact. |
