I'm sorry, but what's the problem here? That some Swedes think burning a dead rabbit in a power-generating incinerator is worse than burning it in a non-power-generating incinerator? That people who are stupidly cruel enough to set a pet "free" are also too tender to imagine that it will die?
PETA madness is globalized.

Of course. They don't want the rabbits killed in the first place.... They said there are shelters set up for domesticated animals.... but I don't think they could handle the 6,000 that had to be shot last year... Another suggestion was to spray plants to make them unappetizing. Of course the rabbits will look for other food (i.e. in people's yards or houses instead of the park) and if they can't find anything, they die and rot on the ground....
I say kill the overpopulation as humanely as feasible (don't torture the animals) and use them for some sort of good.
The only question I have is how much it costs to freeze the rabbits and transport as compared to the amount of heat that they get. Is is a futile attempt?

“We want to see them start looking at other solutions for the rabbits,” she said, citing the Finnish capital of Helsinki, which employs sprays to make park plants unappetizing as well as a network of shelters for various domesticated animals.
| so instead of shooting them, we starve them and place them in cages. Well played, activists, well played.

| Does a nice white sauce qualify as a "solution"? |

| If you used Dickens theory, we wouldn't need the rabbit burning to keep the excess population warm. They wouldn't be here.
