| Men living today are weak and pathetic
Men living today are weak and pathetic in comparison to their ancient ancestors. Quote: Many prehistoric Australian aboriginals could have outrun world 100- and 200-meter record-holder Usain Bolt in modern conditions.
Some Tutsi men in Rwanda exceeded the current world high jump record of 2.45 meters during initiation ceremonies in which they had to jump at least their own height to progress to manhood.
Any Neanderthal woman could have beaten former bodybuilder and current California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in an arm wrestle.
These and other eye-catching claims are detailed in a book by Australian anthropologist Peter McAllister entitled "Manthropology" and provocatively sub-titled "The Science of the Inadequate Modern Male".
| Ok, I know I cant do a 4 minute mile(ok, ok, I can barely break 6 min/mile ), but you have got to wonder just how healthy our ancestors were in comparison with todays best/healthiest athletes.
What do you think? Were we healthier in ancient times than we are now?

I wouldn't be educated enough in the matter to stake a claim either way, but we certainly aren't the physical specimens our enslaved pyramid building brethren were.

We don't build our own houses, we don't catch our own food, we don't make our own clothing, we don't make our own tools...etc., etc. Our lifestyle is much more cushy than it was. If there was a UFC fight to the death, I'm putting my money on the caveman/ancient dude...not the gym-sculpted 'athlete' of today. |

hello Nietzsche?
so what, we are more educated, healthier (some of us) and most of us have a pretty nice life, i prefer all of that over running 100m faster, better hunter etcl than cavemen
btw i know how to build a house and i know how to hunt and i know how to use all the tools necessary but i don't have the time and money to build a house (and i'm sure it won't be a nice house or a stable one but i could ;P) that's good enough for me

A hypothetical, but I'm curious as to how long a cavemen would live if they had access to todays medicine and the like. No junk food or technology or anything otherwise, just the medicine. |

We think we're having a bad day when the battery in our cell phone dies.
Tying to imagine what its like being a caveman with 8 absessed teeth, a few kidney stones and it being freaking cold outside the cave...it a bit tuff to pounder. |

Creatures | Could you make the saw used to cut the wood? Could you lay down your own foundation?
Could you hunt with something you made; not some mass-produced rifle? Could you make your own bow and arrow? Would you be ballsy enough to lie in wait for an animal to pass, then pounce on it? |
