| heard today that walmart, Ebay... and many others will not sell a costume because it is racist.
The costume is an alien dressed in an orange prisoner jumpsuit with illegal alien patch sewn on the chest.
Is illegal alien a Race, Religion, or some other specific group? Or is it a legal term describing any body who does not legally reside in a country?
Ebay cited the ban as being related to their rule of selling anything hurtful, racist blah blah blah. Basically should they have banned this costume based upon their rules Quote: |
Jorge-Mario Cabrera, the director of communications for CHIRLA, said he initially thought the costume was a stab at harmless satire. But when he saw the Green Card, he realized it was an swipe at illegal immigrants.
| is there something wrong with taking a swipe at illegal aliens. Are they a protected class of people? They are ummmmm illegal aliens. you know Illegal.
But even if it is targeted at that group it is not as if we are talking about racism!
hey if target, Walmart, K-mart and Ebay all want to not allow these things to be sold then that is their perogative as they are businesses. However I think there reason for eliminating the sales is misplaced.

I guess the activists don't know the difference between an alien and an illegal immigrant,
if I was an immigrant I'd be offended by the activists treating me the same as an alien

All in all I hate this kind of politically correct BS, and I am offended when business knuckles under to it. of course it is their right but it just give the PC crowd more power for their next stupid crusade!!! |
