The whole scorecard thing is about as close to "addressing the bill" as I think he can get on this one.
Although I do enjoy watching Fox, it's difficult to believe Obama got into office with only 17 campaign promises, so scepticism was probably in order.
On the "Health Insurance" promise (Fox one) the pledge and verdict aren't even related... People can still choose to have private insurance. Some of the others seem to be a bit 'implied' too. |

Batteries not included, some assembly required and strings attached.
WASHINGTON (AP) - More stimulus money will be available for schools, but there will be more strings attached.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan says they're making it tougher because the administration wants states to adopt President Barack Obama's vision of reform.
That vision includes tougher academic standards, better ways to recruit and keep effective teachers, a method of tracking student performance, and a plan of action to turn around failing schools.
Another $11.5 billion will be available for schools, on top of the more than $67 billion already doled out. The more detailed applications will require states to identify by name their lowest-achieving schools, and tell how, or whether, officials have tried to turn them around.
States will also be pressed on what they're doing to make sure disadvantaged kids get effective teachers. |
