| Single payer lunch program...
Support the single-payer lunch program. Lunch is certainly more necessary than health care. People don't need a doctor every day, but they absolutely need lunch every day. Some people can't afford lunch, and have to get their lunch from soup kitchens, or from small existing government programs. What kind of advanced society are we that people have to pay for their own lunch?
It's not fair that rich people can afford a better lunch than i can. So we should disproportionately pool our money in the government, and all get the same lunch. They say there's no such thing as a free lunch, but there SHOULD be! We put a man on the moon, for God's sake - but we can't get free lunch???
What other program programs do you think we should centralize? Single payer haircuts? Single payer pedicures? Single payer clothing? Let's hear some of your ideas, and we'll turn this inhuman capitalist pig country into an idyllic utopian society! Because it's all free!

It's not about the lunch, it's about promising a free lunch. It's all about making the ignorant feel they are exempt.

No, I think there should be Universal food.
These private food companies charging us thousands of dollars a year for food is getting out of hand. |

FREE Call Girls. Why should our Senators and Congressmen get all the perks.

pickel - i originally put this as a facebook status update, and ironically you're the second one to support single payer call-girls! Oddly enough, it was posted by a girl (old girlfriend who continues to crack me up) who also specifically mentioned them as call-girls! I think we could call the single-payer hooker program Sexual Transitional Dispersement... for intermediate sexual gratification of the laid-off boyfriends of the world while they seek newgirlfriends. |

I don't see a problem with a little bit of my wealth being deducted from my pay to help someone in need of a hot meal. |

I need cigarettes so you have to pay for my kids school lunch. I don't want to work so you can pay for my dinner, and I don't feel like going to the soup kitchen because it is beneath me, you you must pay for my lunch.
There is down on their luck, and there is outright abuse of the kindness of strangers. They are very different categories in my book. |

While the definition of "need" may vary from culture to culture, you're being disingenuous when you suggest that the way we define "needs" is so wild and variable that we couldn't possibly use the term when defining whether or not basic human requirements are truly needs.
You need food to survive, so I'd say that the overwhelming majority of individuals would agree that food is need, not a luxury. |
