The ACA is a mandate for citizens to purchase health insurance. One of the major premises of unions is providing health insurance. So...what's puzzling?

It doesn't matter what the public wants, unless in the same poll they are asked how they feel about paying more taxes to support the unions.

Without this connection, the poll is flawed. You cannot give the public employees what they are demanding and not raise taxes.

A quick note on polling and voting: as more and more polls come out showing that the public does not, in fact, hate public workers and their unions, there’s been a stock answer — namely, that the real poll took place in November, so who cares what a thousand or so people say now.

Aside from the fact that this reveals a complete failure to understand the statistics of polling, what it really gets wrong is what the election represented. Voters were not, in fact, asked to vote on what Republican governors like Scott Walker are now trying to do; in a real sense what we’re seeing is a case of bait and switch.

Obama didn't get in because the majority wanted a government takeover of health care.

He got in because he said he would fix the economy and the democrats said McCain was Bush's third term. The economy was the #1 reason, not health care.

Well, voogru, Presidents typically take on more than one issue at once! Imagine that!
