Homeowners could pay in Trayvon Martin killing
"They may wind up getting sued and getting hit with hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees and damages," Berger said. "Who will pay is every member of the association, and they will have to make special assessments.... It's a cautionary tale for other associations."
Even if Zimmerman is never charged, the association could be sued. But the plaintiffs' case would be easier if he were convicted.
The plot thickens..................

Nope. It goes to liability insurance. It will either settle out of court or go to civil court, where a settlement will be reached without all the hoopla.
My guess is 3 million minus 1.5 mil to the lawyers. Who ever said crime doesn't pay!

that would suck.
I don't think Trayvon's family or anyone should be able to sue for an individuals non sanctioned actions.
If their is a neighborhood watch of vollunteers I don't see how the community is responsible for the actions of individuals unless the charter recommended some sort of negligent policy.

He probably has no assets to speak of."The world burns while Obama Tweets."

I am not sure if it is true but, wasn't George Zimmerman self appointed neighborhood watch?
I cant see how the community is responsible for his actions if this is the case.

The "Community" should be more careful about who they get to volunteer
Then there's the part about Trayvon being a part of the same community. The propeller is just a big fan in front of the plane used to keep the pilot cool. When it stops, you can actually watch the pilot start sweating.

Upon further review it looks like he was the only vollunteer for neighborhood watch. But he was not self appointed.

ALL of us on the Neighborhood watch ARE volunteers. All of those on the Security committee ARE volunteers. The neighbor watch is a function of the local Sheriff's Dept.
It is an organized entity.
We have NO insurance and , in this case ,would be liable if a suit was brought forth and lost. Obviously, the other members had no idea of Zimmerman's background. If they had known, I, seriously, doubt that would have approved his membership.
