Theo, why is this wrong?
I don't understand why the executive branch didn't tell the judicial branch that they were co-equals (separation of powers, right?) and that the DOJ was under NO obligation to respond to complaints about a "political" comment from President Obama. Shoulda' told that judge to shit in his hat, IMHO, lol . . .Never send to know for whom the bell tolls . . .

It was a federal appeals court hearing a challenge from another state about Obamacare or some federal issue. (State vs Fed) If the court has no jurisdiction, they don't hear the case. So the judge told the lawyers to make sure the DOJ recognized their jurisdiction. They felt that Obama challenged the legitimacy of the Judicial Branch.
Holder isn't the problem, he cooperated. But Obama is Holder's boss and in control of the Justice Department, and the justices wanted to hear DOJ spell out that the court has the right to decide the constitutionality of the case before it.
in a nutshell, Obama stepped on someone's robe, and they felt the need to throw a sharp elbow in return.
Theo, I could have said UCB.
BTW, were you working on LSD? LOL. The only notoriety UCB got in the '60's was for protests.Obama: The rich have the Federal Reserve and the poor have Harry Reid... LOL. Life really is unfair!

I did LSD once in my life almost 40 years ago, and that was because someone dosed me. That stuff scares the hell out of me! :-)

No, they were working on LSD and psilocybin at Harvard before I graduated in '62; I wasn't involved, but one of my friends was. And I left Berkeley just before the Free Speech movement; although I met Mario Savio once, I thought he was an asshole.
