I don't know if it is true but I usually think of Anarchists as warped smart people with un-realist ideals. Your college intellectual types who got together after a politics course and began postulating ways to improve the world and settled on a stupid plan.
If this is the case how the hell did these guys get suckered into this deal?

Terrorists, eh?

We need to do away with that fear-laced moniker. I see the thought police are alive and well.
I highly doubt this group of "brainiacs" would ever get past the planning stage. They are all talk (which is a protected First Amendment activity, by the way).Good job, friend-of-friends!

Another "crime" created by the agents provocateurs of the police power...

At least this time they were nice enough to skip the part where they introduce them to the guy who can supply them with explosives, train them, and then send them on there merry way to the bridge with every cop in the state lying in wait. So really, they did these guys a favor.
Good job, friend-of-friends!

I am not sure I understand.
They went way past the planning stage to setting off the fake explosives.
they went through planning, Acquisition, on to installation, then punched in the code to blow up a bridge???
it is funny you are willing to Play thought police with George Zimmerman all day long. You know he was out to play vigilante rather than concerned citizen who was following someone at a distance.
Yet allow a group of people actually planned and excecuted a bombing (that turned out to be a dud) they are just some guys out chatting about how to improve the world???
I don't know if the were goaded by the police into becoming terrorists but they most certainly performed a terrorist act.
perhaps these guys were just talking in some chat room and searching through the web for explosive recipies when the FBI offered them some for a good price.
Perhaps if the FBI did not tempt them they would never have acted. Or perhaps they would have gone online an built their own bomb and killed a couple of hundred people. I guess we will never know.Last edited by Epidemic; May 2nd, 2012 at 08:40 AM.

Only because the FBI trained them, supplied them, and put the detonators in their hands. Methinks that is called entrapment. Surveillenace is one thing, but creating the situation that gets them arrested is beyond the scope of the law, IMO.
Last time I checked, Zimmerman wasn't given a gun and told by the police to chase down and shoot a boy. That's what happened in this situation, if you'll pardon the allusion.it is funny you are willing to Play thought police with George Zimmerman all day long. You know he was out to play vigilante rather than concerned citizen who was following someone at a distance.
Turned out to be a dud? Try again. The FBI provided the bomb. It was a guaranteed dud. The only reason they were able to carry out this "terrorist attack" was because of FBI involvement.Yet allow a group of people actually planned and excecuted a bombing (that turned out to be a dud) they are just some guys out chatting about how to improve the world???
Because of the actions of the FBI. Would they have been able to perform the action otherwise? It is doubtful.I don't know if the were goaded by the police into becoming terrorists but they most certainly performed a terrorist act.
You obviously haven't read anything beyond the initial linked article. They worked with an informant who gave them what they thought were C4 explosives. Try reading this.perhaps these guys were just talking in some chat room and searching through the web for explosive recipies when the FBI offered them some for a good price.
They might have eventually attempted something. But considering how easy it was to monitor them, the correct thing to have done would be to do that only.Perhaps if the FBI did not tempt them they would never have acted.
Considering their main bomb-making source was The Anarchist Cookbook I doubt there was enough brains between the group to correctly calculate and cook up enough explosives to take out a bridge. If and when they began cooking up explosives, they could then be arrested on actual charges instead of fabricated charges.Or perhaps they would have gone online an built their own bomb and killed a couple of hundred people. I guess we will never know.Good job, friend-of-friends!

I will have to check out your link. Before they arranged the exchange how much did the FBI know about these clowns.
How well versed were they in chemistry. Could they have employed the anarchist cookbook? Was it beyond their skill set to make a couple of pounds of explosive?
Somehow I feel better that these guys are off the street. Even if the FBI/someone offered to supply me with explosives they would have been strapped to a tree in some secluded forest and I would have blown them up there. I would not have attempted to blow up people or someones property.
my acquisition would be for purely entertainment purposes. These guys when finally empowered to do so attempted to do harm to others. meaning they could very well have low boiled until the came across a vendor that was not tied to the FBI.
Woooohooo FBI keep doin what you is doin.

May 2nd, 2012, 03:59 PM #11Yes, keep entrapping citizens and keeping files on everyone that are shared with CIA/NSA/DoD/every intelligence agency in the US and then give them to Great Britain to do the things that are illegal for us to do. Yes, FBI, do keep up the good work. Don't worry about our privacy or our rights. We prefer to be made to feel horribly insecure that way you can cuddle us and tell us you will keep us safe.Woooohooo FBI keep doin what you is doin.
omg, I'm turning into JP/SJ!
Good job, friend-of-friends!
