“We are now taught in an ‘Active Shooter’ course that if we encounter a shooter in a public place we are to ‘run away’ and ‘hide’" union leader Brandon Judd wrote on the website of 3,300-member union local. “If we are cornered by such a shooter we are to (only as a last resort) become ‘aggressive’ and ‘throw things’ at him or her. We are then advised to ‘call law enforcement’ and wait for their arrival (presumably, while more innocent victims are slaughtered)."

Since we don't belong to the Border Patrol or Homeland Skirts . . . we can just shoot them and stand our ground . . . as in self defense, pickel.

This BS doesn't apply to us.

Got to feel sorry for those it does affect though . . .

I firmly believe if an armed border patrol agent is in our midst, he would drop the perp without a second thought.

He's a law enforcement officer first, and an Obamadrone last.

I believe that part of a Border Patrol Agent should be an Army issue shovel

and a commendation for every drug runner he takes out and removes from our planet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't realize rank and file government agents got re-programmed based on the sitting President.

The sitting President guides the rank and file on how they act. Example: Obama wants illegals to be left alone, local police pick up illegal, call ICE, no response from ICE.

Example of BS, maybe. The current President had deported more people than the former. I'd say ICE is still picking up the phone.

Perhaps ICE takes cases based on priority? If ICE is used to bust child porn suspects, IP pirates, drug dealers, and illegal immigrants, for example, a simple border jumper won't be high priority on the list. The coyotes bringing them across the border along with drug smugglers are going to be of attention (rightfully so) of authorities.

Also, it's not like the local PD just let the illegal walk out the front door if ICE doesn't pick them up immediately. You get a DUI and you're not legal? You will spend time in jail until you're deported.

Besides:

“CBP workforce training is designed to prepare all employees, including leaders, managers, supervisors, law enforcement personnel and non-law enforcement personnel, to understand their own roles and the roles of their fellow employees in responding to threats. In an active shooter scenario, employees are taught to take actions that keep them alive.”

and

DHS officials maintain that the Active Shooter course was designed for all employees—civilian and law-enforcement officers-- and no one should rush into a situation where they, or others around them, could get hurt.

That is the advice you would give a civilian with a CCW firearm, not a sworn peace officer.

I would expect a law enforcement officer to find his way to an advantageous position, and kill him.
