If only CNN and MSNBC had similar offerings. It would be a whole new meme trend.

July 4th, 2012, 04:33 PM #8It's amazing to me that otherwise intelligent people refuse to listen to news they might not agree with. I happen to spend sometime on each of them. I follow them "by issue" rather than by amount of time. As to make a point, there is a lot of important news you won't get because they don't want to make waves for the democrats."life is short..don't be a dick"
You deserve all the news, good or bad. It's your job to screen it, not someone else's.
Calling out Fox as somehow "less than journalism" makes that person seem like a bumpkin.
So flame ahead...

Fox has too much commentary and not enough "news". Opinion and conflict between opinions sell, but it's adolescent and not very becoming for a news channel. They play that "fair and balanced" card so they can have two opposing viewpoints yell over each other...and if we're lucky, the anchor gets involved.

Get a life.
They all get stuck there sometimes. I watched a great discussion on CNN turn into a filibuster between Donna Brazil and some Republican minor leaguer. They all try to control it, some more than others. They play that "fair and balanced" card so they can have two opposing viewpoints yell over each other...and if we're lucky, the anchor gets involved.Last edited by Chuckiechan; July 5th, 2012 at 10:22 AM.

There's nothing wrong with watching Fox, as long as it is part of a balanced media diet. But for people who receive information primarily from Fox, the fact is:
LA TimesFox viewers were 18 percentage points less likely to answer correctly than those who watched no news at all.
In fact, people who are as "dumb as a box of rocks" will tend to get their information primarily from Fox. Does that mean everyone who watches Fox is an idiot? Not at all. Or that there are idiots who watch other channels? Yup, there sure are. But broadly speaking the evidence is clear. Consuming Fox is like smoking a pack a day. It correlates with strong negative effects.
Theo didn't jab you. He made the generic statement, backed up by a study, that Fox news correlates negatively with reality. You are the one who internalized that message and decided he called you an idiot.About the only information you bring to the table anymore is the obits, and POS* jabs at me...Good job, friend-of-friends!
